 For patients that grind or clench their teeth, premature wear and tear can occur. This could cause teeth to crack or break, cause jaw soreness and can sometimes cause sensitivity if the teeth are worn down close to the nerve center. It acts as a pillow so your upper and lower teeth do not touch and any wear and tear occurs on the nightguard. Sports mouthguards are recommended for activity that could cause any injury or contact to the face and mouth. These are all custom fit so you can still talk and breath comfortably.
